How much do drone certificates and exams cost?

The cost depends on the training route you need and any extra practice you choose. There is no single price that automatically covers registration, every exam and insurance.

What you need to know

The A1/A3 exam on flydrone.no is free. The A2 exam has a separate official fee. Kurskompis provides optional exam preparation for NOK 299, with 183 days of access.

These are separate costs

Budget for each item separately. This avoids comparing a practice course with an offer that also includes other services.

What do you get for NOK 299 with Kurskompis?

Access covers all the learning material, including A1/A3, A2 and STS. You get lessons, practice questions, revision, mock exams and progress saved to your customer account. It is a one-off payment with no automatic renewal.

The course does not issue official pilot certificates. Official examinations, practical flying and any authority fees are handled separately. You retain a 14-day right of withdrawal under our purchase terms.

Choose according to your needs

If you want to try the teaching approach first, start with the 20 free questions. Pay particular attention to whether the explanations help you understand your mistakes. This is more useful than comparing question counts alone.

If you need structure and revision, an additional practice course may help. If you already have a good study method, the official training may be sufficient. Do not buy A2 preparation simply because you assume every drone requires A2: first check which training route your drone and flight require.

A simple budget before you book

Write down which certificate you need, whether you must register as an operator, and whether you need insurance or help with practical training. Then list current authority fees and optional services separately.

If you are considering a package from a training provider, check the access period, renewal terms, practical training and who runs the exam. Ask for clarification if something is described only as an “included drone certificate”.
